Sometimes during a disaster or emergency, a Mass vaccination / medication Dispensing site (also known as a Point of Dispensing site) is opened. Communicating information about the process of opening a dispensing site and medicating a large number of residents is important if the dispensing site is to be effective. However, rural communities face great challenges when opening a dispensing site because of limited resources and staff. This section of the toolkit provides materials and suggestions on how to deliver the right messages to the public in a timely manner before, during and after a mass-medication event.
